He really cares about your success. His feedback after every session is brutally honest and constructive. At first I was hesitant about using a random service but after getting nothing out of the campus case workshops I realized I needed outside help. After doing three sessions with him just the week before interviews started, I became much more confident about the process. Beyond assisting me with the case portion, he also helped me script my answers for the behavioral questions by showing me how to take my resume and turn it into a story that highlighted my abilities and why I was a fit for consulting. If you're serious about getting a job use him. Max, Econ and Communications Double Major Northwestern University |

Case Interview Ace
FAQ
|
| How much does case interview preparation cost? |
|
Few people can match my successful track record along with my combined awareness of the recruiting process from both the corporate and student perspective. Read My Bio
My goal is to help you in any way possible whether it be instruction on understanding business strategy/frameworks, preparing for behavioral questions, resumes/cover letters, or conducting mock case interviews. My base rate for all mock interviews and prep services is $90 per hour with payments made through PayPal.
Of course, many students choose to create their own custom package, typically consisting of 3-6 cases along with behavioral interviewing and resume help. For this option please contact me to discuss discounted pricing options. (References available upon request)
For all questions or inquiries please email CaseInterviewAce@gmail.com THANKS!!

| How do I get started? |
|
Typically what happens is that interested students will send me an introductory email requesting either a single mock case interview or a broader series of coaching sessions.
After our initial discussion or email exchange, we will then mutually agree upon a time in the coming few days to work together over the phone. I have done this now since the beginning of 2007 and never once has there been any issues with phone communication. The environment of a phone interview is very similar to the real thing. And for non-campus recruiting, some firms will use phone interviews during first rounds.
As a note, due to my work schedule, most practice sessions will take place on weekday evenings and on weekends.

| Can you describe your coaching background? |
|
I have helped undergraduate students from Northwestern, Michigan, Brown, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, UChicago, Berkeley, and Duke among other schools prepare for consulting interviews. I even have experience giving mock interviews to MBA candidates from Kellogg, Chicago Booth, Wharton, and UCLA Anderson, and international students living in Canada, India, and Japan. In total I have given over a hundred case interviews and have spent countless hours teaching prospective consulting candidates the fundamentals of business strategy. Additionally, I have worked extensively with students in crafting answers to the most frequently asked behavioral questions for the 'fit' portion of interviews.
With my help, students across the country have received full-time and internship offers from the top firms including Bain, BCG, McKinsey, Accenture, Deloitte, and AT Kearney. Even in the recessionary environments of 2008 and 2009, nearly all my students who committed to the full case package received an offer with their average starting salary equaling $65,000 + a $5k bonus. At the end of the day, I will help you become more prepared and focused then your competition.

| Can you describe your teaching method? |
|
The book Case In Point among others is great. It has lots of cases and lots of examples to read up on and I highly encourage my students to get as much book practice as possible.
However, the weakness of this book and others is that it fails to actually teach prospective entry-level candidates what business strategy actually means. Very few universities have any type of course offering where students are taught how businesses compete and how they win. What I've done is to create a fairly comprehensive presentation on the fundamentals of business strategy that I will walk you through. Topics covered include product development, product differentiation, competitive landscape, market conditions, consumer buyer values, pricing, supply chain, distribution, marketing, customer retention etc. using company examples you can relate to like Apple, Facebook, Nintendo, Guess, Gap, H&M, Best Buy, Microsoft etc.
In the end, Case Interview Ace is about providing students easy access to a case interview subject matter expert so that they can learn to adopt a framework approach that works best for them.

| What kind of cases do you have? |
|
I have a strong collection of cases including company turnaround, pricing, international expansion, growth, supply chain, and new product development. I have given each case over 10x and know exactly what constitutes a good vs. bad answer. At the end of each case I start my feedback by first telling you whether or not in a real interview setting I would pass you onto the next round. From there we will then discuss strengths/weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. Typically I spend over fifteen minutes with students dissecting their performance so that they know exactly what to focus on in the future.
My cases are very similar to what you can expect in entry-level interviews for the top tier consulting firms. These cases are challenging and will force you to stretch your communication, quantitative, and analytic abilities.

"Thanks again for your help. You really provided some very helpful information and practice sessions. I will definitely keep you updated as to the offers I receive. As a side note, I think for the future of your business, you should also try to stress your ability to help people with behavioral interviews. For me personally, I think that one session in which we went over behavioral questions was probably the most helpful session. Just an idea, but if you really wanted to expand your business, you should consider consulting out your behavioral interviewing strategies as well."

"Thanks for your help, I really appreciate everything you've taught me. Your biggest strength as a teacher is your organization. Your lessons plans are very structured and relevant to the interview process. Thinking back there wasn't one topic you covered that I wasn't tested on. The cases you gave me closely resembled the cases I received during my interviews and allowed me to perform so much better. Thanks again for answering my endless emails and phone calls. If you need a future reference let me know."
